Why Non-Axisymmetric?

MINI is designed around the core belief that human beings must remain the centre of a space, while light stays gently by their side—at the periphery, on a table or a bedside. To achieve this, the shade of MINI embraces a non-axisymmetric structure, meticulously tilted 13.5 degrees toward the user.

Engineered for deep relaxation, this feature aligns with the average sleep-onset latency of modern individuals. Both brightness and color temperature gradually dim over a 30-minute span down to 0%, ensuring a seamless and peaceful transition into deep sleep.

Uniform Light Defying Asymmetry

A custom-designed optical capsule is housed inside to flawlessly illuminate the unique asymmetric obround shade. This ensures the shade's upper and side profiles emit a glare-free, subtle brightness. Meanwhile, the concave lower surface concentrates light directly downward, securing necessary illumination while preventing glare.
